The SuperSix EVO is the unfair advantage in the competition for the fastest legs. Designed to be the perfect blend of all the key factors of performance - weight, stiffness, strength, compliance, handling and aerodynamics - the EVO is so good that Tour magazine in Germany named it the "Best Bike in the World".
Cannondale's leading edge carbon construction utilizes BallisTec Carbon Technology to create the lightest production road frame ever made, with the best stiffness-to-weight ever measured. Ballistec Carbon is a high-strength fiber developed for Ballistic armor and high-impact resins that build remarkable strength into this ultralight frameset. A special EVO-Carbon layup which means continuous Intermediate-Modulus-Fibers along the upper tube and the seat stays allow an distribution of load peaks all over the frame. In numbers it means a weight of only 950 g. Impressive!
The frame incorporates a version of Cannondale's SAVE stays called Speed SAVE MicroSuspension. Borrowing principles from F1 racing where suspension is more for traction than comfort, the Speed SAVE stays allow for a bit of vertical flex to help keep the wheel on the ground. The compliance comes from a flattened central section on the chainstays and seatstays. The fork is also designed with Speed SAVE by giving it a longer, shallower curve from crown to dropout, allowing for more fore-aft flex. Cannondale says the result is better traction and power transfer on rough roads, and it may make it one of the more comfortable race bikes out there.
The steeper head tube angle and shorter wheelbase suggests faster steering. It truly comes alive steaming down hills and sprinting up them eating up mile after mile with lightning fast speed.
The SuperSix Evo achieves its incredible stiffness and strength with smaller diameter tubes than others. This dramatically reduces the Evo’s frontal area and reduces drag without the added weight and compromises of aero shaped tubes. In fact, tests have shown that the EVO has only 14 g more resistance than the best "aero" frames without having their extra weight and the rough handling.
The Ultegra 6800 11-speed group combines perfect ergonomics and high-tech materials with precise shifting.
The Cannondale Si is a lightweight and stiff aluminium cranksets with superb functionality.
The wheels set are the proven Mavic Aksium.
